What an experience!
I had the opportunity to train, play and compete in Scotland at the famous St. Andrews courses. It was an experience I'll never forget and I hope to be able to return.
I made sure to rest and get the jet lag out of the way to be at the top of my game. I also visited the local area and mailed out some postcards.
I headed out for some practice. I encountered the typical Scottish weather, rain and wind. But it didn't stop me from playing.
I also had a few sunny days, especially when I played Kingsbarns.
Sitting on the bench at Hole 6 @ Carnoustie, Hogan's Alley. Made par all the way thru.
I had great coaches and caddies. My father, unfortunately, never received his clubs from the airline so he didn't play well on the loaner set. But it was great to spend this time with him.
The 18th hole with Dad. The stands were still up from the 2018 British Open.
The tournament was really exciting. I played my best golf ever.
Another beautiful day at the Fairmont, St. Andrews.
Tee times for the Qualifying round. Shot 75, finished T4. I was the only American girl competing.
Some of the most challenging bunkers I've ever seen. Made for an excellent opportunity to practice, practice, practice. Here are some videos of my bunker shots.
More bunker practice.
Practice makes perfect.
Challenging lie, still able to get it out in 1.
Greenside, 8th hole at the Fairmont St. Andrews.
Spectacle bunker, Hole #14 at Carnoustie. Several caddies bet me that I wouldn't be able to make this bunker shot. Easy money!
When it's breezy, swing easy.
Scotland, thanks for the memories! - Izzy
